Ryne is the editor of Gannett's Deep South Connect Team, where they focus on trending news topics across the region. Their background is rooted in sports journalism, having served as the sports editor of the Athens Banner-Herald beginning in 2018. During that time, they covered two Georgia national championships, four Masters tournaments, numerous SEC championships, an MLS title, and a wide range of memorable stories around Athens. Prior to joining the Connect Team, they also held the role of group sports editor for Gannett's CCJ.
